PRIVATE PILOT CERTIFICATE (PPL)
Your Foundation as a Pilot

You’ll train one-on-one with an experienced instructor in Cessna 172 aircraft equipped with modern glass avionics, learning aircraft control, airspace awareness, weather decision-making, and safe operating practices. Lessons are structured, focused, and paced around your progress — not a preset timeline.
The Private Pilot License (PPL) is your foundation. You’ll learn takeoffs, landings, navigation, weather, and airspace, along with essential decision-making skills
Eligibility:
Training can begin at any age, Minimum age to solo 16, Minimum age for license 17, U.S. citizenship or TSA approval, FAA medical certificate
Flight Time:
Minimum 40 hours total (typically 60–70)
Privileges:
Fly for personal, non-commercial purposes with family and friends

INSTRUMENT RATING (IR)

Eligibility:
Private Pilot Certificate, current medical
Flight Time:
Minimum 40 hours of instrument time, including 15 with an instructor
Privileges:
Operate under IFR (Instrument Flight Rules), fly through clouds, and handle a wider range of weather safely

Age 18+, Private Pilot Certificate, 2nd Class Medical
Flight Time:
Minimum 250 total hours (including cross-country, night, and complex aircraft)

Learn to Teach Aviation the Right Way
Becoming a flight instructor requires more than technical skill — it requires the ability to communicate clearly, manage risk, and mentor students effectively.
Our CFI and CFII programs are designed to develop instructors who understand how to teach, not just what to teach.
